Lake Travis Forecast logs anonymous page views to understand overall usage. Each view records the timestamp, the page path, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring site (if any). No cookies are set and no IP address is ever stored.

To count returning-vs-new visitors without identifying anyone, we store a one-way hash of your IP address and user-agent, salted with the current date. The salt changes at midnight UTC, so the hash cannot be linked back to you, cannot be reversed into an IP address, and cannot be used to follow you from one day to the next. Automated traffic (bots, crawlers, uptime monitors) is discarded and never recorded. Logs are deleted after 90 days.

Advertising. This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure them, including personalized ads where permitted; see Google's advertising privacy documentation for details and opt-out options. For visitors in regions that require consent for personalized advertising (such as the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), consent is collected through Google's certified consent management platform before any personalized ads are served. When Google Analytics is enabled, standard GA4 usage measurement applies.

Forecast data comes from public sources (LCRA, NOAA, NWS, USGS, TWDB). Forecasts are estimates, not operational guidance.
